Biography
Sam King is a member of Croker Huck and his practice focuses on bankruptcy, creditor’s rights and commercial litigation. For over thirty-five years Sam King has focused his practice on helping clients achieve their goals and protect their interests on a wide variety of commercial contracts and loan agreements. When things don’t go as planned and disputes arise, Sam is also a staunch advocate for his clients and has the skills, knowledge and experience necessary to successfully resolve disputes for his clients through litigation or settlement.
Sam knows the best way to avoid problems in the completion of commercial transactions is to anticipate them and draft contractual documents which will help clients avoid these problems or which will provide his clients all the tools necessary to protect their interests in the event these problems arise. In the past, Sam has regularly applied this knowledge to draft “air-tight” documents which protect his client’s interests of including promissory notes, security agreements, guarantees, forbearance agreements, loan modifications, leases and lease amendments and variety of related documents.
Sam’s experience with commercial transactions has also allowed him to successfully resolve commercial disputes for clients in litigation. Over the years, Sam has obtained favorable results for his clients in lawsuits involving contract disputes, insurance claims, debt disputes, lease disputes, construction contract claims, and employment disputes. He has successfully litigated complex civil cases in state and federal courts, before judges and juries, and in arbitration. Sam’s participation in trial advocacy programs presented by the National Institute for Trial Advocacy and the Department of Justice has helped him immensely in obtaining the relief which his clients seek in commercial litigation.
Sam is also particularly skilled in representing various parties in business bankruptcy proceedings. He has had extensive experience and training in this field, including his service as a Judicial Clerk for the Chief Judge of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Nebraska and as an attorney for the U.S. Trustee’s Office with the Department of Justice. This experience has allowed Sam to successfully represent various parties in bankruptcy proceedings, including banks, landlords, tenants, vendors, software businesses, and bankruptcy trustees.
